There are events in a sportsman's life, occurrences to be dreamed about and anticipated, but never fulfilled. Hooking into a Chinook salmon and bagging a 10 point deer with a bow, are events that can be truly fulfilled at White Sea Resort.

Our location and lucky attribute, is the famous Mississagi Straight off the West Coast of Manitoulin Island. Acting like the outlet of a funnel, the Straight sits on the well worn travel routes for all salmon passing South and heading North to their breeding bed rivers along the islands and North shore. With the natural flowing currents and the wind protected clear waters, the result is an abundance of nutrients that support the fishing grounds producing baitfish and schools of salmon unlike any other area on the Great Lakes.

In addition to our salmon runs, White Sea Resort has access to thousands of acres of private land on the most Westerly undeveloped limit of the island providing exciting deer hunting opportunities for both the rifle and archery hunter.

With the ultimate in comfort and privacy White Sea offers an experience of a lifetime for individuals and corporate groups who truly enjoy the outdoors or are simply looking to treat their guests. We are open all year round and provide full service fishing and hunting packages to our guests.

Do I need to bring my own fishing gear?
No...all fishing equipment is supplied...however some guests who have fished salmon before like to bring there favorite lure...you are more than welcome to bring what you wish but it is not necessary.

Our boats are fully equipped and with the latest in marine radios, GPS, speed and depth monitors, rods, reels, experienced guides, comfortable head, life jackets and some rain gear.

What do I need to bring?
All you really need to bring is a pair of soft sole shoes, a decent size cooler, your camera, sun block, sun glasses, hat, and of course the appropriate clothing. It is always a little cooler on the water especially in the early morning and late evening. Weather conditions vary on a day to day basis. We do fish in the rain so rain gear would be helpful although we do supply rain suites if needed.

What is the best time for fishing?
We get asked this question all the time and of course we have several answers. Generally though the most consistent salmon fishing is the last week of June to the first week of September. The salmon start to bulk up in early to mid August and generally are bigger at that time. We have caught some dandy Salmon and Lake Trout however in mid June.

Is ice fishing available?
YES..there is. Best time can been had in February and March depending on the ice conditions
